Looking results straight in the eye!

As you may have gathered, we do enjoy a healthy conversation about performance and results. If you sit our Managing Director down with a large cappuccino then you can expect a really thought-provoking session.

One thing that makes us super proud is that from day one we have been so transparent about how we work, why we operate this way and ultimately what it means to those people we engage with.

Being able to bring our business vision clearly in line with results is something we will always be passionate about.

However, when we say results, what do we actually mean? Yes, we are talking KPI’s but again, what does that show and why is it important? Tracking performance is key to so many parts of a process.

Given that our team are all from a solid industry background having spent considerable time in management positions in a range of sectors, we know very well the importance of showing how processes lead to results. We have a process, our “steps to success” are the backbone of our business and mean we continue to ensure quality and know at any point where we are with a project. This process means we join dots! Each step plays its part.

So, yes, just the same as in industry and like many of our clients, we track KPI’s.

What is a KPI?

A key performance indicator (KPI) is a type of performance measurement. KPIs evaluate the success of an organization or of a particular activity.

So, to understand how well we perform, the ‘steps to success’ have to be broken down and measured to enable analysis and improvement.

As is the case in industry, by reviewing the KPI’s as a team, owners of the KPI’s can give a detailed background of the status, but solutions to improving the KPI are encouraged from the whole team, hence the KPI review forms a clear pathway to improve business performance.

It is also important to periodically review the KPI’s, to ensure they are having a positive effect towards the business goals.

What are the benefits?

We are able to identify ‘Strengths’ and ‘Weaknesses’ on the Tracker, which in turn will motivate us to investigate why, and enhance or improve.

By understanding how we measure and track our ‘steps to success’, we are encouraged to follow the process, generating a consistent result.

By having data to present to current and prospective clients that backs up our Ethos & Transparency, it should instil confidence among leads who may be wavering in their decision, because it is tangible proof that we work seriously on everyone’s behalf and is more than just great marketing.

In summary

For any business looking to grow and succeed we know that transparency makes a difference.  We know that people buy into people and at the heart of that is relationships.  This formula is made all the better if that transparency extends as far as process, performance and results.

Take a few moments to look at what you track in your business and why.  Tracking for tracking’s sake is not the answer.  It shows great strength and commitment to be able to step back and identify what you need to track in order to be able to keep moving forward and improve.

What matters to you?  What matters to your team and your clients.  As we have highlighted in this blog, being able to take a magnifying glass to your business and look at the process will result in opportunities to also streamline, save time and money and just give everyone a great feeling.
